APPLICATION FOR A DRIVER’S LICENSE
ENROLLMENT IN THE COURSE
The first step for every applicant is to obtain a medical certificate of fitness to drive and bring it to the driving school. The applicant then completes and submits a signed training application along with the medical certificate at the Phoenix Driving School office. Our driving school will immediately submit the application to the relevant municipal office with extended jurisdiction. Processing of the application takes approximately one week. Immediately after submission and completion of the necessary registration at the municipal office with extended jurisdiction, the applicant is entitled to begin instruction and training at our driving school. We provide the official application and the form required to obtain the medical certificate in person at our branch or headquarters, along with guidance on proper procedures and deadlines for completing and submitting your license application. Upon request, these documents can also be sent via email.
**************
KEY PRIORITY
The application must be submitted correctly, on time, and to the correct municipal office. Incorrect or improperly documented medical certificates will automatically result in rejection of the application, and in worse cases, denial of eligibility to take exams after completing training.
**************
MEDICAL CERTIFICATE OF FITNESS TO DRIVE
The medical certificate must include the doctor’s identification details, signature, and stamp. It must be an original or officially verified document. Copies or emailed confirmations are not accepted by the driving school or the municipal office for exam eligibility.
**************
COMPLETION OF TRAINING
After completing training, the student is registered with the relevant municipal office with extended jurisdiction for the final exam. Our driving school arranges the exam and provides the training vehicle. Exam dates are set by the municipal office in coordination with our driving school.
**************
EXAM
The practical exam includes vehicle control and maintenance, conducted using the driving school’s vehicle according to the requested license category. The driving test follows immediately after successfully passing the vehicle control and maintenance portion, using the same vehicle.
**************
ISSUANCE OF DRIVER’S LICENSE
If the applicant successfully passes all legally required exam components, they can submit a request for their driver’s license at any City Hall corresponding to their permanent address. Issuance usually takes one week, occasionally up to two weeks.
**************
IMPORTANT
The applicant is only legally allowed to drive after receiving the driver’s license in hand, not immediately after passing the exam. Driving beforehand can result in fines or legal consequences.
PROCEDURE IN CASE OF UNSUCCESSFUL EXAMS
TRAFFIC RULES AND MEDICAL PREPARATION TEST
If the applicant fails the traffic rules and medical preparation electronic test, they may retake it twice. After a third failed attempt, the applicant must repeat the theoretical instruction according to Act No. 247/2000 Coll., § 39(2)(a). After repeating the instruction, they may request admission to the exam again, with three more attempts.
**************
If the applicant fails the test three times, they must repeat the entire training program in full according to Act No. 247/2000 Coll., § 39(3). Until the traffic rules and medical preparation test is passed, the applicant cannot take the practical driving test (Act No. 247/2000 Coll., § 39(4)).
**************
PRACTICAL DRIVING TEST WITH TRAINING VEHICLE
If the applicant fails the practical driving test, they may retake it twice. After a third failed attempt, the applicant must repeat the practical driving training according to Act No. 247/2000 Coll., § 39(2)(c). After repeating the practical training, they may request admission to the exam again, with three more attempts.
**************
