MEDICAL TRAINING

  • Medical training is instruction in providing first aid, which is part of the training in the driving school. It includes the basics of saving human lives, treating the most common injuries, and basic knowledge about how the body functions and injury prevention. The knowledge from this training is crucial for quick and adequate assistance in emergencies, whether it is a traffic accident or another extraordinary event.

  • First aid instruction takes place at individually agreed-upon times in the modern training center in Náchod.

    KEY POINTS OF MEDICAL TRAINING

  • Principles of first aid:

    • These include steps such as ensuring safety, assessing the condition of the injured person, calling the emergency line (155 or 112), and then providing first aid until the rescuers arrive.

  • Treatment of injuries:

    • You will learn how to treat various injuries such as wounds, fractures, and bleeding, and how to use specific first aid tools.

  • Medical equipment:

    • You will receive knowledge of the correct use of tools such as gloves, bandages, gauze bandages, plasters, triangular bandages, and a resuscitation mask.

  • Basic information about the injured person:

    • In driving school, you will also learn how to obtain information from or about the injured person (e.g. allergies, illnesses, medications), which may help paramedics.

  • Importance of prevention:

    • Medical training also strengthens awareness of the importance of health and safety on the roads and in everyday life.

PRACTICAL VEHICLE MAINTENANCE

  • Practical vehicle maintenance includes regular visual checks (tires, lights, fluids), topping up operating fluids, checking tire pressure, and regular servicing (oil and filter changes). It is also important to ensure that the vehicle is clean, has functional lighting, and is equipped with the mandatory equipment.

  • Practical vehicle maintenance instruction takes place at individually agreed-upon times in the modern training center in Náchod and is also part of the second stage of training, when the student is introduced to vehicle maintenance in the field and before driving.

          ROUTINE MAINTENANCE:

  • Performed regularly, ideally once every 5,000–8,000 km

  • Oil and filter change:

    • Keeps the motor lubricated and reduces wear.

  • Checking fluid levels:

    • Check and, if necessary, top up engine oil, brake and cooling fluid, including windshield washer fluid.

  • Checking tires:

    • Check tread depth, correct inflation, and any damage.

  • Checking the battery:

    • Verify voltage and the condition of terminals for possible corrosion.

     Before driving:

  • Performed regularly and always

  • Visual inspection:

    • Check the cleanliness of the vehicle, lights, mirrors, licence plates, and tires. Make sure nothing obstructs the view and nothing is damaged.

  • Checking for leaks:

    • Look under the car to see whether any operating fluid is leaking (oil, coolant, etc.).

  • Checking brakes:

    • Press the brake pedal. It should not sink much lower than normal.

  • Checking lights:

    • Inspect the functionality of all lights – parking, low beam, high beam, indicators, brake lights, and rear fog light.

     Other important tasks:

  • Regular servicing:

    • Have the vehicle inspected regularly (usually once a year or after driving 10,000–15,000 km), including checking the braking system, air conditioning, and other important components.

  • Mandatory equipment:

    • Make sure the vehicle has complete mandatory equipment (first aid kit, reflective vest, warning triangle).
